C.L. Moriarty Parman

<Welcome to my Author's page.

I remember writing stories as far back as third grade. Then in high school my English Literature teacher, Mr. Eugene Whiteman said of one story, "It's good enough to be published." I believe that was what planted a seed in my heart to write. I can still remember the title, "Valentine for Valerie." It was a story about Valerie, (obviously) whose boyfriend had a motorcycle. I was considered artistic back then and was known for drawing pictures of long-haired beauties on my classmates clipboards. So I drew one on the cover of my story about Valerie. That's all I can remember about it today.

I had been writing for at least 20 years when a quiet voice whispered to me "Why don't you  put some of your poems and essays into a book?" This labor of love became accumulative enough for two books, not just one. 'Mushroom Marathon' was published in 2004 with recent revising in 2007 to make it more enjoyable reading.

My poems and essays are straight from Rural America and these country reflections develop from thinking alongside the winding branches of the Grand River in Northwest Missouri.

I will be posting some questions to the blog page, things that have been on my mind.

Browse the website... and hopefully you will find something of value. I have not been able to travel very far, so there weren't many 'events' to report on, but I will do my best to inform you when they do occur.
